Green Convene Strategies is committed to meeting the needs and expectations of our clients, while incorporating green practices into every meeting, conference, convention and event that we help plan.

Everyone at GCS is dedicated to our clients’ success. That’s why we work with each client on a custom basis to develop a relationship, understand goals, and determine the right level to green an event based on resources, effectiveness, time and budget considerations.

We are also emotionally committed to helping the environment. Our vision is to champion the use of green meetings practices to lessen the negative environmental impact that our client meetings and events have, while positively affecting their bottom line and ROI.  Often, environmental improvements result in significant cost savings. Green is green.

Purpose

We want to share the knowledge and passion to inspire and empower clients, other meetings professionals, and students to work toward a sustainable planet for generations to come. Education is the key to carrying the green message forward to more organizations and people that can make a difference. Green practices also have a positive impact on your organization’s global stewardship and bottom line. Why would you want to do it any differently?

Green Convene Strategies is the creation of founder, Victoria Stephens. After more than 20 years working in marketing communications and events management, Victoria wanted to combine her work experience with her passion for nature and the environment. In 2006, she started her research. “I’ve been recycling, re-using materials, conserving, composting and gardening for years,” says Victoria. “I’ve enjoyed volunteering at events that teach about the environment. But I want to do more. I want to have a substantial positive impact on the planet. One evening, reading an events industry magazine, I came across the term ‘green meetings.’ As I read the article, I instantly realized how I could combine my passion with my profession.” Thus, Green Convene Strategies was formed.

At Green Convene Strategies, we take practical steps in everything we do...for ourselves, in the office, and for our clients. To support our vision, purpose and commitment, we also use green practices throughout the day in our work place. We are all part of the problem and we can all be part of the solution. We take over a dozen steps in our office alone to put our commitment into action. Just a few examples are: print only when necessary to reduce paper usage; unplug cell and iPod chargers to eliminate phantom energy drains; develop the habit of turning off lights when unneeded; re-use meeting and office supplies whenever possible; and replace incandescent light bulbs with energy saving CFL bulbs.
